Huawei to Provide CNGI Equipment for China Unicom

According to a Xinhua News Agency report, China Unicom has chosen Huawei to provide equipment and solutions needed for the second phase of construction of its CNGI (China Next-Generation Internet) infrastructure in Beijing, Shanghai, Zhengzhou, and Ji'nan. China Unicom will use Huawei's Quidway series routers for the construction. Currently, China Unicom has completed the first-phase construction of CNGI in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, and Chengdu. CNGI is a network construction project co-piloted by China Netcom, China Telecom, China Unicom, China Mobile, China Railcom, and Cernet.
